The New Love of Poe's Successor

Love is inexistent. Short straight and to the point. Do you disagree? Have you ever had those feelings where your heart races when that special someone smiles in your face, or spends a nice evening with you? Those feelings are sent from the brain through your body. This is "love." Merely a synthetic, imaginary "emotion" created by the naive souls of society in order to have an excuse to be around someone for long periods of time. By now you're probably thinking that I'm a bitter beast with a shitty love life; half right. I have very little belief in such an emotion. I mean, it used to thrive, but its dying. Dying quickly. And the murderer is walking amongst the earth.
I digress. Why do we believe in love and all that comes along with it? i.e. happiness, joy, yadda yadda. Well, have you ever wondered why love includes doing anything for the person you love? Not just giving them 5 bucks for lunch or frequent rides to the movies, or where ever you may go, but dying. Would you die for that person? Would you be willing to throw away your life in order to protect theirs? Love requires sacrifice. WOULD YOU MAKE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE? Why? For that person? No seriously why? What makes their life so precious to you that you would be willing to do such a thing?

The will power to accept someone for who they are. Can one truly accept the one they love for who they are? Habits rise and fall like a sine or cosine graph (nerdy math joke, if you don't get it...don't dis the joke or those of us who understand), as do relationships in general. For example, if you pay close attention to Disney movies and their lack of realism, you notice that women fall for monsters, poor people, random necrophiliacs who kiss dead bodies, mice that walk around topless, and ducks that walk around w/o pants. In Order: Beastiality, Dating out of your league, Necrophilia, Inappropriate dress codes. What doest hat have to do with love? Well as you can see these people fell in love under all of those conditions. Could you do the same?

On to compatibility. Now, there are people in this world who have their exact opposite, their perfect match. How many of you know who that could potentially be? (rhetorical question) Marriage is no excuse to say that a person is your perfect match. I attack marriage because that, too, is dying. But was it ever really alive? Marriages that last until the very end is "love." However, marriages that last until the kids go to college and you can stop paying child support is not. There is always the sly situation of an angry married couple who stay together regardless of their happiness. I believe to say that in today's age, the only true happiness is through a pre-nup. Also, lying is a short cut to compatibility.

Success in Love? There is no success in love only tolerance. If you can tolerate that person you "love" for extended periods of time without slicing their head off and chucking it across a corn field, you are set for life. Once again, do not misunderstand me. I admit that i conform to the naivety of the masses and allow my mind to release these mental impulses throughout my body, however, until now I haven't questioned them.

Interesting--Lets recap, shall we?

Well, I was on Facebook the other day, surfing games and quizzes as usual, when I came across the "What Is Your Inner Animal" quiz. I thought it would be interesting to take such a quiz. Thus, I commenced to do so. As I was taking the quiz it asked alot about how I view myself in reference to the choices and questions behind them. As I was taking the test, I imagined it would give me one of the typical results like a lion, a tiger, a bear (oh my!), or a maybe even a wolf. However, to my surprise that definitely is not the result that I recieved from this test. To my surprise it was a very in depth analysis of my personality(although lacking in accuracy on a couple of points). Apparently my inner animal is the Water Dragon (a small green lizard). Once my animal was specified it was broken down into Personality, Wish, Friends, Color, Stones, Hobbies, and Quotes that would relate to this digi-spiritual taxonomy.

Personality: You’re a majestic person who prefers being alone than with people. You don’t really care about those around you, but if you see someone hurt you won’t just leave them there. The reasons you like being alone is because people don’t understand you and your way of living. You're different and some people have made fun of you for it.

Wish: Your wish is to find that one person who you know is out there, that will understand you and who will accept the fact that your different.

Friends: You don’t have friends, if you do they're usually people who have just come and gone. You have made a few enemies here and there, but nothing to bad. You go from people to people, yet your still looking for that perfect someone

Color: You like glassy colors. Like water blue and leaf green.

Stone: Aquamarine.

Hobbies: You should take walks or go swimming. Things that make you get out of the house and meet people. I know it’s hard finding the right people to talk to, but one day you’ll find the right person.

Quote:

“I’d much rather be hated for who I am, then loved for who I’m not.” –Quote I read somewhere.

"True beauty shines from the soul and warms the world with its kindness, compassion, and integrity." –Another found quote

Response:

Personality: I do believe that the personality is correct. Although one has expressed belief that no one is different. When, actually, we are all different in specific ways. However in a general sense (in reference to human nature) we are all, indeed, the same. (excuse my tangent)

Wish: completely and totally accurate. I mean who doesn't wish that? Well nevermind, some people just want to find someone to make them happy *shrug* People tend to settle for happiness when they hardly know the person they're with. Divorce thy name is humble and damnable.

Friends: I definitely have friends. I'm simply just picky about people and who will be dubbed a "best friend." I have a few best friends but I also have those people who are just friends. I also have those who are attempting to work their way up a hierarchy that I have established. A bit fascist, but whatever.

Colors: I do enjoy water blue and leaf green. They certainly are two of my favorite colors (always have been). However, I do enjoy darker colors as well, equally if you choose to believe so.

Stone: Really? Wtf?

Hobbies: So, erm; Suggesting what hobbies I should indulge is NOT what this little tid bit of information should be doing. I do enjoy swimming and a nightly stroll, if the evening entices me to do so.

Quotes: I like the first one, the second one was note me at all.

GSU Show Choir: Adrenaline

When an individual lives their lives according to the events that occurred within them, you can only assume so much. However, what can you know about what they've been through if you never bothered to care? Show them your love and compassion for who they are and what they do. Give them some of your strength because you are one--not two. Adrenaline is not 33 people; Adrenaline is one entity of love, hard work, dedication, and spirited individuals who enjoy what they do. They are self-governed, they are strong, they are the epitome of what family is truly about. How can so many people with so many different backgrounds be a family? If you do not understand, then it is quite possible you don't deserve to be apart of the love they share.

I've walked around campus and heard some things said about show choir. I've heard things said about people in show choir. I do not relay the ignorance and oblivion of those who know not the lives they have lived and continue to do so. What do they have to gain from negativity? Do they grow based upon confrontations that are below them? From the previous statements you may ask: Are they a conceited group of performers? First off, my naive little urchins, they are not a 'group,' as you so quaintly put it. I repeat, they are a family. No, they are not conceited, you possibly just are unable to comprehend the integrity and professionalism that we, as an organization uphold. Do not misunderstand me, no other organization is better than we are, nor are we better than them; however, our values possibly differ greatly.

I have a friend who says, whenever I do or say something "gay," "That is so show choir" or "That is too show choir." I've tolerated it for a while, but trust me after today: February 28, 2009, he will never speak those words ever again. To that friend, how could you say something that makes such a wonderful group of people that you know nothing appear as though being like them, and apart of who they are, a bad thing? That, sir, is inexcusable, and if you wish to stay friends you will never do such a thing ever again out of respect for Adrenaline and for me.

Adrenaline has become more than just a family. Th--we became something greater, something more meaningful. We heard each others' stories. Tears were shed; hugs were given as well as hearts. How can we be more than family? Honestly? You would have to be us to find out. If you can't be apart of who we are and what we do? Then I pity you with a smile--because your life may have its own meaning without Adrenaline Show Choir; it may have been another "thing" you did during your life, but for us? It is that bullion pathway into happiness, it is that beacon of hope that lets us know that when together, we are untouchable by you, and anyone else who may attempt to rip us down or make us feel bad about our lives, our craft, and our bond.

Word Search

Give me a puzzle and I'll solve it with ease
Give me a problem and wisdom shall please
Show me the time and I'll give you a rhyme
However...give me a word search and I'll run out of time

A word search is long, and difficult to do
Nothing compares to the journey a new...
Words that are impossible to find
Some that hide from me every day, they make me blind

Like a mystery they remain unsolvable
This is all so very improbable...
I look for these words, they taunt me with simplicity
They carry my heart and demand elasticity...

I can't be flexible to all of these words...
I can't find all the things, I can't fly like the birds
To take to the sky and solve every dilemma
To pick up a pen and find every word from love to romance

These words are impossible to successfully find...
Nothing so hard has ever disheartened the mind...
Heart...the only word I discover
Is something fragile, however, lonely without lover

With Lover, theres love...still I do not see
I can't find the words...
I'm stuck with this riddle, this puzzle...
I'm stuck in this ongoing Word Search...

The On Going Tradgedy That Was Once Forgotten

My dear Friends,

I paint you a picture of enlightened disregard for life. One who takes the hatred of many to conceal it all into one, if not massive, but mortal being. It speaks of love through inverses of compassion. It destroys cities, countries, worlds, all for the sake of happiness; all for the sake of its own stability. Tell me, who giveth the beast this way of living? It giveth the life to itself. It taketh the breathe of the ones it detests and throws it into the desperate pits of damnation and cruelty. I give you nothing more than a frail shell. Yes. It. Is. Frail; weak. I know it has its past and has its present. However, its future is undeniably vague and ambiguous. Those who have foresight of this beings time line of misguided decisions based upon deterred pasts, make only the pain that is the life that isn't worth living. This piece is the darkest amongst any canvas that exists.
I now sculpt the castle--no--the kingdom in which it resides. It has only this home, this world to reside this day. Does another live there with him? No. Should it have company? Its home is vast, the castle, stone and cold, hard, lifeless black steel. Forged from the deepest of sorrows and lowliest of times; from the darkest of nights and the most righteous of embers. A citadel of impenetrable hatred and anguish. However, there lies one small hole...the weakest part of this evil fortress. What could dare penetrate such a place? The answer? Love. Love weakens the strongest of the strong, it shines purity upon that which remains corrupt. Corruption bleeds from that impalement. It corrodes the castle slowly until the wall begins to crumble; before the demonic black steel is abated to the very last bit of death that was forged from the soul it once was. How could such a place be so tame? Tell me, please enlighten me of the wrath that was wrought upon this playful soul and how it coul be darkened by something so pure. Not even I, the architect, can say.

Can this life be reborn, or merely built upon as was the city of Rome? Can this soul be reestablished as a free land, or shall it forever remain a hollow paradise; a bitter sweet end to a journey that has yet to begin?

Random Thoughts in Class...(stream of conciousness)

Facebook is an unhealthy addiction of many people. I use it mostly for the bumper stickers. I LOVE Facebook bumper stickers! FOR EXAMPLE! this one is one of my favorites!
<<------

So I've definitely investigated FML.com; I do love the site, however, I don't find to be as addictive as many people claim. Trust me, I enjoy the hilarity of the misfortunes of others as much as the next sadist, but it isn't something I would indulge in everyday.

So I have a very unhealthy obsession with cereal. I mean seriously, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Honey Nut Cheerios are my two main addictions in life. If I could only live off of cereal, I totally would!!

I really hate the lame eagle picture that GSU has posted on the desktops of all its computers. I find it to be very annoying. Who wants to see a nearly endangered dinner in front of a fake background anyway?? *eye-roll* (haha j/k) (but seriously I'm tired of that damn eagle...)

I don't know why people beat their children when scarring them emotionally/mentally is much more permanent...

When I tell you that my Christmas holiday is/was much better than yours? I seriously mean it

Why do we have state birds? Don't they migrate at some point in time? Doesn't that mean you should have multiple state birds?

I wonder what state is sh*tty enough to have the pigeon as a state bird...

OMG I got a new digital camera for Christmas!! I now realize why I see so many people who have pictures of themselves...cameras make you arrogant and vain

I was playing Sweet Home Alabama on Guitar Hero: World Tour and I stopped and asked myself...why the f*ck does this song have such a hard solo!?!?! I mean I know its on Expert, but damn its a stupid country song!

...F*ck Alabama!

I played Star Wars: Force Unleashed. And NOW I finally realize that George Lucas is full of bullsh!t...
Fun game though...fun game...

I wonder if the first "Lost & Found" was invented by stealing peoples' stuff and having them pay to get it back...

I recently discovered a favorite quote by Dr. Seuss:

--Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

When We Talk To One Another...

Today I said to myself: "Self, what exactly do you use your blog for anyway? I mean, there are no true personal thoughts immortalized there; you have no dreams or aspirations expressed to the masses? Why are you even bothering to write a blog, more or less, read over it for personal interest and gain?"

"Honestly? I really don't know. I couldn't tell you if I tried. As far as I know I come to this class to write in my blog and do whatever else i need to do. It is fairly simple in relative comparison to the common man, however, I don't believe we are a common man."

"Why do you believe that? Do you think you are better than everyone else? Do you believe that everyone else is beneath you in some way or another? How can being the common man be such a bad thing?"

"Lets not misunderstand each other. By the way, this is way off topic. However, there are many different genre of the common man. Theres the jock, the emo, the intellectual, the the thespian, the homosexual, etc. I fit into none of these groups. I have no label. I define nothing by the means used by society; for example I don't consider myself to be of any specific race. I am neither black, white, Asian, Latino, African American, nor any other nationality that defines the world--"

"Why not?"

"Why should I? Why should I define myself by specific societal limitations? You, of all people, should know how I feel about being separated into [a] specific group(s) through my actions. In a way sure I am better than everyone else. Not necessarily them, personally, but the way they define life, society, people--I surpass it all. I am intelligent, mildly athletic, a bit of a thespian, an artist, a little emo, maybe even a little homosexual, and it's very possible that I'm a lot of other things as well. However, these are merely traits. Not definitions of who I am (which can easily change tomorrow through pure pretentiousness)."

"I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the ordeal of meeting me is another matter."
--Winston Churchil
